NFL Divisional Playoff Weekend

Last week I covered the NFL Wild Card weekend going 4 for 4 and bringing up several scenarios that would forever be sketched in the minds of fans and NFL writers. Pointing to the emotional ride in Baltimore of Ray Lewis's last game to the ultimate physical destruction of Robert Griffin III in Washington D.C. Twitter follower @TheEsquireof212 in New York asked which NFL teams would cover the lines. Suggestion Seattle Seahawks -3 over the Washington Redskins and Baltimore Ravens - 7 against the Indianapolis Colts that turned out great right Michael?

Now we enter the Divisional round of the NFL playoffs great story lines are endless this weekend as  Ray Lewis brings leads the Ravens into Mile High (great name for a stadium especially in Denver) to square off with Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. The offensive minded Green Bay Packers will try to strike a match at Candlestick Park against the feared defense of the San Francisco 49ers. While the Houston Texans look to revenge a 42-14 loss on December 10th to the New England Patriots and Tom Brady. Last but not least Rookie of the Year candidate Russell Wilson brings the spirit of the Seattle Seahawks 12thMan over 3,000 miles into the Georgia Dome facing high explosive offense of Matt Ryan's Atlanta Falcons.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Denver Broncos Jan 12th 4:30 pm EST (CBS)

Coming into Denver the Baltimore Ravens are playing for their leader and head General Ray Lewis and a chance at the AFC Championship. While the Denver Broncos offense and defense are playing at an elite level. Most sports writers are going to gloat over seeing the Ravens defense face off against Peyton Manning's Broncos offense but the real story is the Denver Broncos third rated defense. The same defense that carried Tim Tebow and his anemic offense to the AFC Divisional playoffs last season. They say Ray Lewis, I say Von Miller, they say Ed Reed I say Champ Bailey, they say Ravens defense I say Broncos defense. I am sure you get the point Peyton Manning is playing with the third best defense in the NFL best defense in the AFC. Broncos offense has scored over 30pts eleven times this season. During the regular season the Ravens have given up 23pts eight times losing six out of eight.

Prediction: Broncos score over 23pts and Willis McGahee will be available for the AFC Championship.

Green Bay Packers vs. San Francisco 49ers Jan 12th 8:00 pm EST (FOX)

Perfect NFL classic match up 49ers and Packers at Candlestick doesn't get any better than seeing two historic franchises do battle in the playoffs. We can sit here and count championships on both sides but none of this matters on Saturday when Aaron Rodgers squares off against the vaulted 49ers defense and a healthy Justin Smith returning from injury. While the 49ers will enjoy home field advantage on Saturday, Rodgers is no stranger to playoff games on the road winner of three road playoff games and two road victories away from the all time record for Quarterbacks. Still the Packers offensive line has been a house of horrors plainly said "the Packers offensive line is terrible". Rodgers was sacked an NFL high 51 times during the regular season. Aldon Smith and the 49ers defensive front seven will be ready and well prepared to manhandle the Packers up front. Yes, Kaepernick is young his never played in the postseason "blah, blah" but he will be in front of 70,000 of his closes friends at the Stick.

Prediction: San Francisco 49ers will keep the defense hunting all day forcing Aaron Rodgers to launch awkward and untimely passes down the field  while the "Smith Brothers" will be eager to clean house.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Atlanta Falcons Jan 13th 1:00pm EST (FOX)

Game of the week two perfectly good teams with contrasting styles squaring off at the Georgia Dome. Atlanta Falcons are a very finesse pass first team with multiple weapons controlled by one of the great young QB's in the NFL Matt Ryan. Seattle Seahawks are a brutal run heavy offense led by Rookie of the year candidate Russell Wilson and Marshawn "Beast Mode" Lynch. Falcons defense is very opportunistic with a ball hawking secondary with a very vanilla type NFL front. Seahawks are big up front, fast in the middle and HUGE in the secondary built on power and speed they posses the number one scoring defense in the NFL. Unfortunately many take this view of comparing offense against offense and defense versus defense this is the wrong approach. This is not Matt Ryan versus Russell Wilson, this is Ryan versus Sherman, Browner and the Legion of Boom. Tony Gonzalez and Jacquizz Rogers play will be the best measure of Falcons success in the NFC Divisional playoffs. Seahawks young linebackers KJ Wright and Bobby Wagner must challenge Gonzalez. On the other end Falcons must attack Marshawn Lynch and wrap up at the point of contact while keeping Russell Wilson in the pocket.

Prediction: One of the best playoff games in recent memory Matt Ryan will have the ball for the last drive seeking a game winning career defining touchdown against the leagues best defense... keyword "seeking"

Houston Texans vs. New England Patriots Jan 13th 4:30pm EST (CBS)

Based on the 42-14 thumping the Patriots handed the Texans in week 14 at Gillette Stadium many are predicting another double digit blowout. Silly Rabbits Trix are for Kids, Texans and Patriots match up really well despite the week 14 debacle Andre Johnson, and Arian Foster are real top 5 players at their positions. Texans defense is very underrated but can they handle Tom Brady?
Facts: Brady is (16-6) in the NFL playoffs a win over the Texans moves Brady over Joe Montana on the all time win list for QB's.Brady undefeated in the playoffs when attempting over 30 passes in a playoff game. Patriots running back Stevan Ridley finished the season with 1,230 rushing yards. Gronkowski is finally healthy. Last main point Brady has finally found chemistry with Brandon Lloyd and the Patriots 2013 team might be better than 2012.

Prediction: Texans will not lose 42-14 expect a closer match up on Sunday still Patriots offense is too much for the Texans to keep up shoot out???

NFL Wild Card Weekend Ready to Rumble!!!

The NFL playoffs where legends are born and memories are made to last forever. This season we have the usual Super Bowl type suspects Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and Aaron Rodgers joined by the youngsters RGIII, Russell Wilson, and Andrew Luck. Baltimore Ravens Ray Lewis will be playing possibly his last game in Baltimore versus the Indianapolis Colts. Andy Dalton and AJ Green's Cincinnati Bengals have a 2012 divisional round rematch with the Houston Texans. Last but not least Adrian Peterson the greatest running back on the planet faces NFC North divisional rival Green Bay Packers on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field. Divisional Wild Card round 2013 has all the makings of an unforgettable weekend of NFL football. Time to put the hard hat on and Cleo up with our NFL Wild Card predictions.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Houston Texans Jan 5th 4:30 pm EST (NBC)

Bengals are on a roll winners of three straight with key wins over Ravens and Steelers to finish the regular season. Last season Andy Dalton and A.J. Green were rookies tasting NFL postseason pressure for the first time. Now that young Bengals have grown some mane lately they are seeking revenge against the Texans. Houston (12-4) enter the playoffs losers of 3 out of 4 regular season games to end the season. Schaub and company are favorites to win at home but a glaring stat reveals the Texans as frauds in BIG games. All four loses are against playoff teams Packers, Patriots, Colts and Vikings. Bengals have a clear shot in this match-up but can they slow the Texans offense?

Prediction: (Houston Texans) Last seasons wild card game was over before it started. This time the Bengals won't fold so easily but the addition of Matt Schaub combined with Arian Foster will have the offense rolling in the 4th Qtr...

Minnesota Viking vs. Green Bay Packers Jan 5th 8:00pm EST (NBC)

Vikings will travel to face NFC North division rival Green Bay Packers and will be relying heavily on the shoulders, back and knees of Adrian Peterson. In two games this season Peterson has rushed for 409 yards and  2 TD against the Packers. Packers have lost four out of the last six playoff games at Lambeau Field and this time the tundra will be frozen with -10 degree wind chill temps. Aaron Rodgers threw for 365 yards and 4 TD's in week 17 match-up against the Vikings. Packers have won 7 straight home games and nothing makes me think the streak will change.

Prediction: (Packers) Simply have more offensive weapons and week 17 proved this could turn into a shootout. Still have weather concerns as it will be bitter cold forcing Packers to think twice when Vikings pound the football with Peterson. After pondering over the facts there is simply nothing to ponder about after all Packers move onto San Francisco and warmer weather in the next round.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Baltimore Ravens Jan 6th 1:00pm EST (CBS)

Andrew Luck will be the first of three rookie QB's to take the field on Sunday. Colts have been surprising this season Reggie Wayne and Luck have developed a good chemistry allowing the rookie to flourish. Issues still exist with Colts as the defense has allowed 24.2 points per game and the offense has only mustered 22.3 per contest. Teams that allow more points then they can score generally don't make the playoffs and the Colts have been lucky this season. Luck has tossed 18 int's and the Ravens will be hungry to perform as Ray Lewis plays what is reportedly his last game in the NFL. Expect Ray Rice to touch the ball more in this contest as the Ravens ground and pound offense takes flight against the 29th rush defense and Flacco finds open receivers Boldin, Rice and Pitta versus the 21st ranked pass defense.

Prediction: (Ravens) The emotion will be high and the pressure will be fierce Ray Lewis and company will attack the Colts offense all afternoon. No disappointments or upsets here.... hail to #52

Seattle Seahawks vs. Washington Redskins Jan 6th 4:30pm EST (FOX)

Seahawks travel to the Nations Capital Washington D.C. to face off against the Washington Redskins in what could end up as first cross country rival between Robert Griffin III and Russell Wilson. Both rookie signal callers have been excellent this season poise in the pocket and not afraid to mix it up on offense. Two mobile QB's taking the future of the NFL to new levels. Combined RGIII and RW3 have produced 46 TD's and 18 int's. Clearly the two best rookies in the NFL both rely on tough hard nose running backs Redskins Alfred Morris (1613 yds)and Seahawks Marshawn Lynch (1590 yds) ranking 2nd and 3rd among running backs in yards from scrimmage this season. While there are tons of offensive similarities for both teams, the comparisons end on defense where the Seahawks are #1 in the NFL allowing 15.3 pts per game. Brandon Browner returns from suspension and Richard Sherman won his appeal and Seattle's Legion of Boom secondary is the best in the NFL. Winner gets OROY?

Prediction:  (Seahawks) Early week reports mentioned that RGIII was looking to shed the knee brace for the playoffs but he is still hobbled and the latest news has him wearing a knee brace on Sunday. RGIII will need to be 100% in order to beat the #1 defense in the NFL as the Seahawks posses both speed and power on defense.

NFC West = NFL's Best Division?

We've heard the sports media brainwash fans into believing the NFC West has been the weakest division for years. The division has participated in three NFC Championships and two Super Bowls since 2005. Seattle Seahawks versus Pittsburgh Steelers in 2005 proved to be a shame as the referees completely botched what was the Seahawks first time participating in the Super Bowl. Then in 2010 the Steelers and Cardinals put together possibly the best Super Bowl performances in NFL history.  Those who criticized the history and tradition of the NFC West since 2002 is sadly mistaken. This is the division of the 5x Super Bowl Champion 49ers and the St. Louis Rams "Greatest Show on Turf" historic football teams led by All Pro legends and NFL Hall of Famers.

Now let's take the history bundle it up and package it with the now, take a deep look at the NFC West and you will find the NFL's hardest hitting division. Yes, the Steelers and Ravens rule the defense of the recent past but those days are diminishing and the 49ers, Seahawks and Cardinals represent the new wave of NFL defense. Cardinals defensive "Red Storm" is loaded with talent ask Tom Brady and the fans in New England how many New York Giants Super Bowl flashbacks they had in week two as Darnell Dockett was breathing down Brady's neck. Have a conversation with Jerry Jones and Tony Romo about how the Cowboys only managed 7pts in their week two trip to the Great Northwest. Challenge the Seahawks uniquely built secondary and find out why their called the "Legion of Boom". Travel North to Wisconsin and find out what the cheeseheads think of the San Francisco 49ers after week one "They Are Who We Thought They Were". Patrick Willis led the NFL's best defense versus the potent offensive weapons of Aaron Rodgers Green Bay Packers and left a trail of melted Velveeta at Lambeau Field.

You heard of East Coast versus West Coast bias in the media and the NFL well here's the truth. 49ers, Seahawks, and Cardinals have three f the best and most gifted defenses in the NFL. Don't think for one second teams from the NFC South, NFC North and NFC East are going to come West of the Mississippi River and blow out candles at CandleStick Park, march into Arizona and steal water out of the dessert or visit Seattle and quiet the 12th Man. New Orleans Saints quest for a Super Bowl repeat died in Seattle 2011 buried beneath the rubble of the greatest NFL run in history and the Saints haven't recovered. The New York football Giants played the real 2012 Super Bowl in San Francisco and still thank St. Francis for a overtime miracle fumble. Like Cam Newton (2011), Robert Griffin III suffered his first NFL lost to a NFC West team falling to the St. Louis Rams in week two after plowing through the Drew Brees and the Saints in week one.

In the NFC West if you want to play in a shootout play the Rams besides that welcome to the new "Red and Blue Division". Welcome to the NFC West last one out turn the lights off, or you will be leaving in a casket your choice. Come hard or don't come at all it's a new season.

NFL: NFC 2013 Playoff Predictions

As the famous quote say's "Are You Ready For Some Football"? It's the end of summer the days are getting shorter and the sounds of fans cheering on their favorits past time fills the air.  Whispers of another exciting NFL season is being heard around the corner. NFL analyst and talk show radio hosts are putting together their seasonal outlooks and predictions of another great NFL season is starting to take shape.
This is the time of year @JMCSPORTSBOOK likes to analyze the upcoming season as well. Last season we were off, I admit it we pegged the NY Giants as 2011-2012 playoff observers, sitting at home watching the Eagles soar to the top of the NFC East. Well the Eagles flopped and the Giants turned into the G-Men of New York City. Winning their second Super Bowl and defeating the New England Patriots and Tom Brady.
This season the NFC is loaded with a list of talented Quarterbacks beginning with Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees desperately seeking their second Super Bowl appearance. Ultra talented and electric is Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers offense with the resurgence of Steve Smith at Wide Receiver and the health of the dual headed Running Back core of Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams. The partnership of Quarterback Jay Cutler and Wide Receiver Brandon Marshall brings an aerial attack to the rough and rugged style of the Chicago Bears (thanks Philbin) and the "Monsters of the Midway" at Soldier Field.
Defense is the call in the NFC West where last seasons surprise 49ers boast what could be the NFL's best defense with Linebacker Patrick Willis. Travel North and we run into the Puget Sound where Head Coach Pete Caroll has amassed possibly the most talented secondary in the league led by Free Safety Earl Thomas.
So what's the predictions for this season's NFC playoff race, who has the chance to be this years new kid on the block (49ers). What former Super Bowl Quarterback will bring their franchise back to the top? In a league where an average of  5 playoff teams from the previous season fails to make the playoffs annually here's the "Magic 8 Ball" for the 2012- 2013 NFC playoff picture.
1.) San Francisco 49ers: This defense is elite Patrick Willis and Defensive End Justin Smith head the NFL's most talented defensive unit. Offensive additions of Randy Moss and Mario Manningham serve as new weapons for shaky Quarterback Alex Smith. Vernon Davis showed his still a top notch Tight End after being relegated to blocking duties under former Head Coach Mike Singletary... Prediction 12-4
Key Home Games:
Sept 16th vs. Det,
Oct 16th vs. NYG
Key Road Games:
 Sept 9th @GB,
Dec 23rd @Sea
2.) Green Bay Packers: Criticize Green Bay's last-place defense in the land of cheese all you want but Charles Woodson, Desmond Bishop and BJ Raji still lineup for the Packer defense and their first five 2012 draft picks were defensive players. A-Rod still has the controls of the Green Bay offense and they won't miss a beat with former offensive coordinator Joe Philbin departing to Miami. "Green Bay Packers still rule the NFC North"... Prediction: 11-5
Key Home Games:
Sept 9th vs. SF,
 Dec 9th vs. Det,
Key Road Games:
Mon Sept 24th @ Sea,
Nov 25th @NYG,
Dec 16th @Chi
3.) Atlanta Falcons: After last seasons miserable 2 -24 defeat to the New York Giants in the NFC Wild Card will the Falcons bounce back? Questions have been raised about the competence of Matt Ryan to Rise Up in the playoffs. Despite four consecutive winning seasons the Falcons have not won a playoff gams since 2004. Falcons addressed several key areas of concern including the offensive line drafting Peter Konz out of Wisconsin to keep Matt Ryan cool as "ICE" in the pocket and the addition of Asante Samuel helps out a porous 2011 secondary. This could be Tony Gonzalez last hurrah. Prediction: 11-5
Key Home Games:
Sept. 30th vs. Car,
Nov. 19th vs N.O.,
 Dec. 16th vs. NYG
Key Road Games:
Nov. 11th @ N.O.,
Dec 22nd @Det
4.) New York Giants: 2012 Super Bowl champions have arguably the best set of wide receivers in the National Football League Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz provide Eli Manning with a potent offense. David Wilson out of Virginia Tech was drafted with the Giants 2012 first round pick and looks dangerous coming out of the backfield at runningback or course Ahmad Bradshaw is the starter but Wilson still projects to get touches on this championship team. Osi Umenyiora's contract issues are over and the Giants defensive best rush is the best in the business. Giants play the leagues roughest second half schedule.... Prediction 9-7
Key Home Games:
Sept 5th vs. Dal,
Nov. 25th vs. GB,
Dec. 30th vs. Phi
Key Road Games:
Oct. 14th @SF,
Dec. 16th @Atl,
5.) Detroit Lions: Finally breaking through in their 2011-2012 seasonal campaign Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson team up again to wreck havoc on opposing secondaries. Stafford passed for 5,038 yards and 41 TD's shattering the Lions passing records for the most yards and touchdowns in a season. Megatron the receipients of 16 touchdown passes last season has become of the face of the franchise and the Lions are ready to become perennial playoff contenders. In contrast the Lions defense with the alway's notable Ndamukong Suh are looking to improve on defense after finishing 22nd (pass) and 23rd (rush) in the NFL. Prediction: 10-6
Key Home Games:
Nov 18th vs. GB,
Dec 22nd vs. Atl,
Dec. 30th vs. Chi
Key Road Games:
 Sept 16th @SF,
Dec. 9th @ GB
6.) Seattle Seahawks: With one of the best homefield advantages in the NFL courtesy of the famed 12th Man the Seahawks are eager to prove that last seasons second half was not a fluke. Stacked with talent on defense Seattle is poised to become a top 5 unit. Safety Earl Thomas and the Seahawks secondary (3/4 2012 Pro Bowlers) are now being matched up front with a hungry defensive line. Rookie Quarterback Russell Wilson looked fantastic in pre-season games and looks to be the future, "no correct that" the now of the Seahawks and Pete Carrolls legacy. Marshawn Lynch is full "Beast Mode"  Sidney Rice and Braylon Edwards provide reliable targets... Prediction: 10-6
Key Home Games:
Sept 24 vs. GB,
Dec. 23 vs. SF
Key Road Games:
 Oct 7 @ Car,
Oct 18 @ SF,
Oct 28 @Det,
Dec. 2 @ Chi
Note: Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears deserve special consideration their schedules are a little bit tougher and NFL playoffs only allows a total of 6 teams in the playoffs don't count them out . "Are You Ready For Some Football"???

Seahawks Russell Wilson The Next Steve Mc Nair???

Russell Wilson the bright well mannered rookie of a professional has captured the NFL by storm. Yes, I know so let's get it out of the way "it's the pre-season". Cool great, there it's gone, now back to the story. Wilson has captured the heart and eyes of the 12thMan, his the superstar Quarterback that has alluded this franchise since June 17th 1975. Never before has the Seahawks had such a dynamic QB at helm, commanding the huddle and extending plays. This is why the buzz around the VMAC sending sound waves to Wisconsin and North Carolina State is so resounding.

Pete Carroll's mantra of compete, compete, compete is starting to create a new culture for the Seahawks. Gone is the good ol' boys club of highest paid or big name free agent get's the coveted position over the much well rounded up and coming rookie in camp. Carroll's philosophy is starting to create it's own strides and rejuvenating a NFL franchise that started to revert back to the 1990's of a doormat team. Instead over the past two seasons the Seahawks have witnessed Brandon Browner, Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas all contribute meaningful playing time on the field and develop into the NFL's best secondary. Browner (2011) and Thomas (2010) started at key positions during their rookies campaigns and both becoming Pro Bowlers during the 2011-2012 season. Kam Bam was tutored for the Strong Safety position by Seattle area legend Lawyer Milloy before starting full time and making the pro bowl in 2011. So Carroll is not new to the philosophy of promoting young talent and giving guys a chance to make a impact.

In 2012 when the Seahawks made a semi-blockbuster move signing Matt Flynn from Green Bay. The 12thMan and NFL columnist and analyst believed the Seahawks were freely giving the keys to Flynn to waltz in as the Seahawks new starter. Believing that the Flynn era was starting in Seattle. What no one could foresee was the Seahawks drafting the ultra talented Wilson out of Wisconsin in the 3rd Rd. Many projected Wilson as the Seahawks back-up, a Quarterback with talent, and possibly competing for the role of back-up. 18 preseason drives and 12 scores later Wilson looks to be in the drivers seat to start the 2012-2013 season as the Seahawks starting Quarterback.

It's amazing Wilson has transferred his style of play from North Carolina State to Wisconsin and now into the NFL. Wilson passes with precision, creates in the pocket and makes smart decisions with the football. Wilson says he always envisions success, he imagines himself as successful and just puts in the work. Wilson a natural born athlete was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 2010 MLB draft. His a pure athlete, who set the  single season FBS record for passing efficency (191.8) and led the team to a Big Ten title and the 2012 Rose Bowl

Born in Richmond Virginia, Wilson draws his decision making from the genes of his father a lawyer and his mother a nursing consultant. As a High School junior at Collegiate Preparatory in 2005, he threw for 3,287 yards and 40 touchdowns. He also rushed for 634 yards and 15 touchdowns. As a senior in 2006, he threw for 3,009 yards, 34 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Wilson also rushed for 1,132 yards and 18 touchdowns. That year, he was named the conference player of the year, and also named an all-conference and all-state player. He was featured in Sports Illustrated magazine for his performance in the state championship game win. As a natural athlete Wilson also played basketball and baseball in high school.

As we can see Wilson is more than just a football player his an athlete. His upbringing is such that his a natural locker room and franchise leader. Smart intelligent, competitive and natural leader all the traits a Coach, GM and Franchise Owner looks for in a Quarterback. Pete Carroll, John Schneider and Paul Allen hit the "Jackpot" not worried about the 5' 10" stature of the athlete the Seahawks took a gamble and so far in the pre-season it has paid off. Flynn did nothing wrong in the battle of the Quarterbacks, Wilson is just that "DAMN GOOD" and one "HELL" of an athlete. The only question is when will Russellmania began, will Carroll sit the ultra talented rookie for a season and possibly lose time developing the best steal in the 2012 NFL draft or will the DangeRussWilson get a chance to start week one "No Holds Barred". If Robert Griffin III and Cam Newton is the new version of Randall Cunningham and Michael Vick then Russell Wilson is the new updated Madden 2013 version of Steve Mc Nair and Donovan Mc Nabb. Guess which version of those great athletes went to the Super Bowl?

Seattle Seahawks 2012 NFL Draft: Shock Draft Experts and Select Bruce Irvin

Seattle Seahawks 2012 NFL draft was excellent, yes I disagree with nationwide sports analyst and their criticism of the Seahawks top pick. At the start of the 2012 NFL Draft Seahawks only had six draft picks but wisely completed a draft day deal with the Philadelphia Eagles to move back three positions from #12 to #15. Why did the Seahawks move back three positions because the three players the Seahawks were targeting in the first round were still available. Moving back three spots the Seahawks still had a shot at their targeted 2012 pre-draft picks while adding two more additional draft picks.

A little recent history since John Schneider and Pete Carroll arrived in Seattle the franchise has rebuilt on the strength of the draft and through free agency. Schneider and Carroll are top evaluators of prospected NFL talent examples include Brandon Browner, Richard Sherman, Russell Okung, Doug Baldwin, K.J. Wright, Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas. Carroll was the brain that believed in Red Bryant, when Bryant thought his career was coming to a close in Seattle. One thing the new Seahawks regime in has shown us is to never doubt the brain trust or the Chess moves on the board.

Drafting Bruce Irvin was a genius move in hindsight, yes he has had some issues in the past with school and some boneheaded decision making. Bruce Irvin's past history stands out like a sore thumb but the man never gave up he keeps pushing despite his academic failures he took strides to complete his G.E.D. and never gave up on attending college. Sometimes as humans we tend to focused on others individual past problems so much that we discredit and ignore the effort it takes for a person to overcome those issues. Overcoming the issues and problems build character.

Coming into West Virginia Bruce Irvin was touted as a possible Big East defensive player of the year his expectations were high. Pete Carroll looked at recruiting Irvin to USC so the young fella has talent and a history with the Seahawks head coach. As an OLB Irvin produces 4.5 speed and his skill set compliments the missing piece in the Seahawks defense. Irvin not only has the capability to play OLB but has the intangibles to lineup on the line at DE and bring a tremendous pass rush off the edge.

After the draft Schneider acknowledged that the Seahawks thought about moving back in the draft for a second time "We thought about doing it again," Schneider said. "We just didn't want to get too cute. This guy is just too special of a football player." Whispers about the New York Jets looking to possibly draft Irvin made it into the Seahawks draft room and Schneider made the move. ESPN's Skip Bayless mentioned that every time he watched a WVU game last season Irvin kept sacking him in his seat at home flying off the television screen to hit a quarterback.

As analyst and so called Mock Draft experts "cough" Christian Fauria point and criticize the Seahawks draft. We also point and criticize the draft experts for missing out on Bruce Irvin. Bruce welcome to the #12thMan welcome to Seattle home to the loudest stadium on the planet the best fans in the world. We know why Schneider, Carroll and the Seahawks brass drafted you now shock the world.
