Seahawks Russell Wilson The Next Steve Mc Nair???

Russell Wilson the bright well mannered rookie of a professional has captured the NFL by storm. Yes, I know so let's get it out of the way "it's the pre-season". Cool great, there it's gone, now back to the story. Wilson has captured the heart and eyes of the 12thMan, his the superstar Quarterback that has alluded this franchise since June 17th 1975. Never before has the Seahawks had such a dynamic QB at helm, commanding the huddle and extending plays. This is why the buzz around the VMAC sending sound waves to Wisconsin and North Carolina State is so resounding.

Pete Carroll's mantra of compete, compete, compete is starting to create a new culture for the Seahawks. Gone is the good ol' boys club of highest paid or big name free agent get's the coveted position over the much well rounded up and coming rookie in camp. Carroll's philosophy is starting to create it's own strides and rejuvenating a NFL franchise that started to revert back to the 1990's of a doormat team. Instead over the past two seasons the Seahawks have witnessed Brandon Browner, Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas all contribute meaningful playing time on the field and develop into the NFL's best secondary. Browner (2011) and Thomas (2010) started at key positions during their rookies campaigns and both becoming Pro Bowlers during the 2011-2012 season. Kam Bam was tutored for the Strong Safety position by Seattle area legend Lawyer Milloy before starting full time and making the pro bowl in 2011. So Carroll is not new to the philosophy of promoting young talent and giving guys a chance to make a impact.

In 2012 when the Seahawks made a semi-blockbuster move signing Matt Flynn from Green Bay. The 12thMan and NFL columnist and analyst believed the Seahawks were freely giving the keys to Flynn to waltz in as the Seahawks new starter. Believing that the Flynn era was starting in Seattle. What no one could foresee was the Seahawks drafting the ultra talented Wilson out of Wisconsin in the 3rd Rd. Many projected Wilson as the Seahawks back-up, a Quarterback with talent, and possibly competing for the role of back-up. 18 preseason drives and 12 scores later Wilson looks to be in the drivers seat to start the 2012-2013 season as the Seahawks starting Quarterback.

It's amazing Wilson has transferred his style of play from North Carolina State to Wisconsin and now into the NFL. Wilson passes with precision, creates in the pocket and makes smart decisions with the football. Wilson says he always envisions success, he imagines himself as successful and just puts in the work. Wilson a natural born athlete was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 2010 MLB draft. His a pure athlete, who set the  single season FBS record for passing efficency (191.8) and led the team to a Big Ten title and the 2012 Rose Bowl

Born in Richmond Virginia, Wilson draws his decision making from the genes of his father a lawyer and his mother a nursing consultant. As a High School junior at Collegiate Preparatory in 2005, he threw for 3,287 yards and 40 touchdowns. He also rushed for 634 yards and 15 touchdowns. As a senior in 2006, he threw for 3,009 yards, 34 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Wilson also rushed for 1,132 yards and 18 touchdowns. That year, he was named the conference player of the year, and also named an all-conference and all-state player. He was featured in Sports Illustrated magazine for his performance in the state championship game win. As a natural athlete Wilson also played basketball and baseball in high school.

As we can see Wilson is more than just a football player his an athlete. His upbringing is such that his a natural locker room and franchise leader. Smart intelligent, competitive and natural leader all the traits a Coach, GM and Franchise Owner looks for in a Quarterback. Pete Carroll, John Schneider and Paul Allen hit the "Jackpot" not worried about the 5' 10" stature of the athlete the Seahawks took a gamble and so far in the pre-season it has paid off. Flynn did nothing wrong in the battle of the Quarterbacks, Wilson is just that "DAMN GOOD" and one "HELL" of an athlete. The only question is when will Russellmania began, will Carroll sit the ultra talented rookie for a season and possibly lose time developing the best steal in the 2012 NFL draft or will the DangeRussWilson get a chance to start week one "No Holds Barred". If Robert Griffin III and Cam Newton is the new version of Randall Cunningham and Michael Vick then Russell Wilson is the new updated Madden 2013 version of Steve Mc Nair and Donovan Mc Nabb. Guess which version of those great athletes went to the Super Bowl?

Miami Dolphins: Philbin Fires "the Ocho in Cinco" Chad Johnson

"Jasmine Brand" Chad Johnson Get's Cut by Dolphins
Okay we get it, you fire man because he is too big of a distraction at work. His not running his routes right, his not participating in drills, his late to practice, or this one he domestically beats his wife and doesn't represent the organization in a good manner.

So I get it, we get it, Chad Johnson had to leave the Miami Dolphins. His circus show had become to big for an organization that just traded Brandon Marshall for a bag of peanuts after getting into an altercation at a late night club. Coach Joe Philbin I think we get the idea you believe in a respectable structure built with "Blue Collar" players.

In some circles Philbin's move was respected here's a new coach trying to put together a great organization one with professional pride. Well in my circle and in the many circles of fans, Philbin is a bit of an attention whore. A man looking out for his own professional fame, he didn't care about Johnson's fiasco he was waiting for the fiasco to happen. He need a reason to get rid of the hometown kid, you know the one with the flashy attitude. The player who's fame is larger than life, he needed to make a good example, "as if the Marshall trade was not enough" he needed to show strength by firing "Ocho Cinco".

Philbin responded to the incident before Evelyn could file divorce papers, he divorced Johnson before anyone could go to court. Chad and Evelyn could always rekindle their relationship "most likely not" but the relationship between Johnson and Philbin is lost forever. In a shrewd way to show up an employee on national television, Philbin had the camera's of HBO's Hardknock rolling and ready for the firing of Johnson. In the video taped meeting Philbin plans not to be a crazy, outrageous coach who fly's off the handles. Yet, he tapes the firing of Johnson also saying that this is not a "I am the head coach thing or let's make an example of Chad Johnson thing" but I think taping company private meetings like that is definitely making an example of some body and a little off the handles.

For Chad Evelyn hey that's none of our business what happens, happens fellas keep your hands off the ladies. As for Johnson's career, I personally wish you the best. As for Coach Philbin trying to humiliate Johnson and make an example your option to tape the meeting was cruel and unusual. Wonder if the NFL players union can send you a little note endorsed by "Ocho Cinco" and make an example of your poor professionalism and choices as a head coach.

Recent reports have Johnson saying that Evelyn Lozada headed butted him and if you listen to this video below you will see and hear why Johnson has a case. As Evelyn's past can comeback to hurt her in the case of the "Headknockers" and who bumped who.

Philbin, Coaches are suppose to stand by the players not throw them away like cheap paper bags from the "Dollar General". This was a personal matter a domestic dispute that has yet to be judge or heard in court. Hey Philbin you can't fire the Ocho in Cinco....

Chad Johnson Arrested For Domestic Violence Hits Wife

With the news of Chad Johnson and his domestic dispute with his wife Evelyn Lozada The news made me shriek as more and more sports athletes have become connected to domestic violence and abuse towards women. Chad headed butted his wife after a heated argument over the discovery of condoms in Chad's vehicle. Apparently Evelyn was outraged suspecting Chad of tip toeing around with different women and wanted an explanation for the condoms. The conversation boiled over and Chad lost his head, spearing his wife with a head shot that left a laceration on Evelyn's head.

Chad's situation reminds me of a former referee named Troy Raymond. Prior to the incident Troy and his wife Leslie Raymond were having marital issues. Leslie had requested for a divorce and Troy's career was in jeopardy after being contacted by official committee and told that he would not be re-hired to officiate for the upcoming season. Money issues and his wife's demand for a divorce had become a pressing issue for Troy. Shortly after news about Leslie's death at the Raymond's home became a interesting subject, as investigators announced the incident Troy committed suicide.

While the previous case is a situation from 2011, their has been a rash of cases involving domestic and female violence in 2012. Floyd Mayweather one of the greatest boxers in modern history was arrested in 2012 for a argument he had with his children mother.According to the reports Mayweather was facing up to 34 years in prison on domestic battery charges in a hair-pulling, arm-twisting attack on Josie Harris, the mother of three of his children. Before pleading guilty and accepting a plea bargain of 90days versus the 34 years in prison.

During the 2012 NFL off season a high profile wide receiver by the name of Brandon Marshall was accused and facing charges of hitting a woman in a nightclub. The incident happened outside of a New York City Manhattan Night Club known as the Marquee. Though the incident happened due to the woman's party being confrontational Marshall maintains that he is innocent.

While the Marshall incident is much milder it still reflects on the view of athletes hitting women. We remember Mike Tyson and Robin Givens incident, the O.J. Simpson and Nicole Simpson relationship disaster. As more and more role model athletes are charged with committing these acts something must be done to remind the younger generation of athletes and men that hitting a women is not okay. Just because some famous athlete beats his wife, girlfriend or some woman in a night club does not make it okay. This type of  behavior is not acceptable.

Men hitting women is never an excuse, theirs not some magical pass or cue card that say's okay "time to hit". Domestic violence and abuse of women has to stop. Women are not a pawn to be toyed and played with or just another piece to your personal trophy collection. Women are humans the breathe of life that gods provides the earth with to help replenish and nurture his children. Without woman the human race would cease to exist.

As I watched the Olympic games this summer a video commercial put together by athletes and the help of President Obama sent out a clear message to stop female abuse. The Presidents administration revised the Violence Against Women Act with four objectives and strategies to prevent and respond to gender-based violence globally are to:  (1) increase coordination of gender-based violence prevention and response efforts among United States Government agencies and with other stakeholders; (2) enhance integration of gender-based violence prevention and response efforts into existing United States Government work; (3) improve collection, analysis, and use of data and research to enhance gender-based violence prevention,  and response efforts; and (4) enhance and expand United States Government programming that addresses gender-based violence.

My mom said a real man protects himself and family at all times but never is it okay to abuse a women. Abuse can be classified as physical and verbal in nature.Having the restraints to walk away or remove yourself from such an incident shows, maturity, love and patience. Restraint requires strength and poise but hitting and abusing women only requires a coward. Take the reigns be a leader "Head of Household", to command respect of your position means to act in a respectable manner filling the void of household and family leadership. A position commonly natural to a male throughout today's society.

Chad hope you get the memo; violence and head butting is never a last resort because that option should never exist. The old saying was "it's cheaper to keep her" it's also "smarter to walk away" and use conversion at a later time and point after cool head have prevailed. For all the mothers and women in the world who deal with abuse, your self value is worth more than a slap, punch, or headbutt to the face. Your position upon mother earth is commendable and respected. For nothing would exist without the touch of a woman.
